For the upcoming Holiday our theme was that we were going to have a BORING Holiday season … from a SupplyChain perspective. But by BORING, from a SupplyChain perspective , I did mean that we were going to do all of the necessary planning. And we would deliver a great customer experience.
We decided to attack this by introducing the Lean technique of Value Stream Mapping to the organization. The company had no experience in Lean process improvement. Even though none of the team members had been through a Lean transformation or Value Stream Mapping exercise before they eagerly volunteered to participate.
