Regarding your last statement “…categories where the buyer has enough choice to consider ethical considerations”, I have a few thoughts. The question for “yesterday” is: what can we practically do to make a real impact on these companies, rather than just writing back and forth unproductive posts? Any suggestions? I invite others to share their ideas.

Voitek Szewczyk, how about an actual case study? – https://bit.ly/3MntOFz

Kate Vitasek is probably getting tired of my tagging her regarding the I-35W bridge rebuild project in which moral imperatives to honor those who died in the tragedy combined with the urgency to restore a vital artery between two cities created the perfect storm for exceptional collaboration. – https://bit.ly/3MntOFz

Of course, even after the project’s success, the State reverted to their old way of doing business, which led me to ask – can procurement collaborate outside of a crisis? – https://bit.ly/3DEbO46

Regarding your question, we should really be asking why don’t we have the will beyond exceptional circumstances to do what is not only the right thing but the smart thing as well all of the time.
