Here is my response to a LinkedIn post by Joël Collin-Demers regarding a Canadian judges decision to legally accept a thumbs-up emojie as a valid acceptance of a contract signature:
I recently posted a linkdIn poll asking, “What is the major obstacle to eSignature (electronic signature) adoption?
” – https://bit.ly/3D5lEMi
The options included – requires advanced technology, lack of trust (security), and resistance to change. I should have added, “Thumbs up.”
By the way, the last time I gave the thumbs-up sign was when I inadvertently skied down a Black Diamond run and wiped out not once but twice. It certainly didn’t mean I had fun or would do it again.
Thoughts?

A good reminder to always clearly communicate, send official documentation, and I hate to say it…stick to the procurement process. 🤷🏼♂️
However, pretty lame end result for the supplier and Shane on the buyer for not getting a fully executed contract signature (lazy if you ask me).
Was an official PO sent and accepted by supplier?

Hello, Tahj.
Do you think this will motivate more organizations to invest in digital signature technology?

They should, yes. However, some companies will be reactive vs. proactive.
