Cold-Email Campaigns

Cold email campaigns (the bad ones) are annoying, am I right?

In a previous blog, I talk about writing a cold-email that people will want to respond to.

Based on the responses from this post, I thought it would be fun to share a few of the fails I’ve seen when it comes to cold emails.

Now, I’m not trying to target anyone, any company, for any reason. I’m doing my best to hide any information on who they are/what they are selling.

(So just know, it’s for entertainment purposes only!)

I can’t imagine being on the other side of the fence (nor do I want to) so this isn’t a jab.

Just an example or two of what you REALLY shouldn’t do when sending out cold-emails.

An email you can’t recover from..

I’m not sure if there is anything worse than this epic cold email fail.

Is this a system CRM fail or did someone just hit send too quickly? I may never know.

Either way, you kind of feel bad for them knowing this could of just potentially killed a lot of new clients.

Keep it short

If you want to learn how to write a cold email, there are a few key rules. One of which is to keep the cold-email short and to the point.

I have a few cold email examples that were waaaaaay too long. This was the shortest of the cold emails that I could squeeze down the size and screen capture to share.

For the love of all things good in the world, don’t send me a any type of email (for that matter) that goes on longer than an encyclopedia.

I’m never going to read half of it.  Or any of it for that matter.

I’m still not sure what they were selling.  Could have been the cure to cancer.

So for the love of sweet Jesus and everything holy – don’t do this!!

“A” for Cold Email Effort

And a big fat “F” for the calculations being so far off they don’t even make sense.

Do your homework on the company people! Just because a company is in a certain industry, doesn’t mean their spend follows that pattern.

On the flip side – if they would have been close with spend numbers, it would have gotten my attention (in a good way this time).
