Calgary Women in Energy is excited to announce our 2024 Allies in Energy Executive Forum. Since 2020 we have brought Executives together to discuss thought provoking topics and this year is no different. A highly esteemed panel of local energy Executives will meet on April 10th to discuss conflict and change management. We hope that you will join us at this year’s event. Purchase your ticket for this amazing event before it sells out! – https://lnkd.in/gnbbysYH

Looks like a great panel tackling an important topic, Kara Slemko. I hope the organizers record it.

After more than 40 years in high-tech and procurement, conflict and change management have been constants throughout the past decades. As a side note, I am also very familiar with Gleicher’s formula for change.

That said, here is an excerpt from an article I wrote earlier this year about change that you may find interesting – https://bit.ly/4aNus8z

“If someone said, “I would give you a million dollars to climb Mount Everest or five thousand dollars to jog up and down a small hill,” what would you choose?

Many spend too much time selling the million-dollar benefits without considering the “perceived” cost of climbing Everest. Put another way, you don’t have to convince me that a million dollars is worth more than five thousand dollars. You must convince me that climbing Everest is as easy as jogging up and down a small hill.

In other words, before you convince me that your solution is better, you must lay out the path to change and the associated cost of integration.”

What are your thoughts about dealing with conflict and change management?
