How will AI impact you? It is at once a simple, yet complex question:

– Simple in that we understand the overarching concept of AI.

– Complex because we have yet to really define or understand “our role” in leveraging AI to achieve optimal results.

In my September 3rd post I wrote:

“In short, AI is an extenstion of human experience and expertise – NOT a replacement for it! As long as we do not abdicate our responsibility for critical thinking and ongoing intervention, we will remain in the driver’s seat.”

Here are two of the many comments I received regarding the above question in my LinkedIn discussion stream:

David Loseby MCIOB Chtr’d FAPM FCMI FCIPS Chtr’d FRSA MIoD MICW – Professor & Visiting Scholar, Editor in Chief, Advisor & NED (Pracademic)

Thanks for sharing and the tag Jon W. Hansen there is a terrific need to build a greater awareness and understanding of this topic.

The scary part of all this is those that choose not to engage in the shaping and forming of all things in this arena.

Hervé Legenvre – Research & Education on Supply Chain – Innovation – Open technologies

On this topic I keep doing a few things these days. I try to stay away from both magic and moral judgements. My aim is to keep all this practical.

I get participants in my class to test the differences between Gpt3.5 Gpt4 and Claude2. I could see that by comparing the outcomes of the same prompt used with different models people become more critical.

I also get people to reflect on a 4 steps augmented decision making process.
1/ how to challenge and validate the outcome provided by the model
2/ how to interpret the outcome provided by the model
3/ how to extend the analysis beyond the outcome provided
4/ how to take decisions in teams using inputs from models.

I also have a few do and don’t on the topic.

On September 21st, I will expand on this and many other points and invite you to join this incredible panel of industry thought leaders who will provide their insights on AI For Supply Continuity.
