EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is a post/video by IBM regarding the market’s perception of AI. I share my thoughts below.

Natalie Gunn, Data and AI Innovation Leader, IBM, and Nicole Park, Senior Banking and Financial Markets Sales Leader, IBM Global Industries

Is the appetite for Gen AI different in Australia than in the USA? What are the concerns and how are IBM business leaders helping to address them?

Nicole Park, Senior Banking and Financial Markets Sales Leader, IBM Global Industries joined Natalie Gunn, Data and AI Innovation Leader, IBM at hashtag#IBMTechXchange Sydney to discuss the common ground between Aussie and US businesses when it comes to hashtag#AI, data sovereignty and reducing risk. 🤖👍

My Take

Here is the part of the short video that resonated with me the most:

“A lot of the skepticism also exists because a lot of the vendors are saying they can do all these cool AI things, but what’s really real, what’s behind all the cool videos and sales and marketing information?” – Nicole Park, IBM

My advice:

✔  Stop chasing solutions and start solving problems.
✔ I have often discussed the importance of service provider leadership stepping out from behind their company’s logo. I emphasize that the critical play is not the tech but the expertise behind the tech – the market expertise and experience to leverage tech to solve a problem.
