As one of the first procurement industry bloggers, if you told me on May 18th, 2007, that in December 2023, I would still be penning my thoughts on the Procurement Insights blog, I probably would not have believed you. Here is the link to my very first post: Welcome to Procurement Insights. As a side note, that first post had three comments, which was encouraging because I didn’t know if anyone out there would be reading it.

By the way, back then, we were not known as bloggers. We were called diarists, journalists, and escribitionists – yes, that is a word.

In thinking about what to write on this milestone post, the answer came to me by way of the following comment I received on LinkedIn:

“The procurement archivist of our times.” Thank you, Corey; I like the sounds of that moniker.

Going back to the topic of blog post number 2,000, beyond the top three posts from the past 16 years, I thought it would be a great idea to share what you, my faithful readers, had to say. After all, without you, I would be an old guy talking to himself. Here is just a small sampling from (2008 to 2023)

Once again, it’s you, my readers, who have elevated this blog beyond an echo chamber in which meaningful insight and informative dialogue have always taken precedence over consensus. Or, as I like to say, I would rather get it right than be right!

Thank you for “tuning in” these past 16-plus years. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to be a reliable source of insight and information.
